Editing Research

I've been watching clips relating the genre of our creative project, in order to gain some experience in the field of editing. Because our creative project has elements of several genre's I have been examining clips from movies that share elements with our idea.
For example the Anchorman scene with the hallucinations is something I could interpret and use in  my creative piece due to the fact our video is centred around drugs and effects of use.
The next clip I watched was the drug scene in 21 Jump Street, this is relatable to our project and is helpful for our piece because we can take some of the ideas during the Hallucination scene as it is similar to our initial idea.
One of the techniques we can use is The Fade which is the scene fading away into another shot , resembling time passing since the last scene. This works both ways in the sense that you can fade into a scene but also out of one resembling the past, present or future of the film.
